Terms of Service

1. What this is

rank.garden (“the site”) sells a spot in a shared, illustrated garden. A spot can carry a project — a title, a one-line description, a name and a link to your own site — or a message left for someone, shown on the plant with who it is from.

2. What you are buying

A one-time payment for one spot. You are buying a placement, visibility, and referral traffic. You are expressly not buying search ranking benefit: outgoing links carry rel="sponsored", as search engines require for paid links. Anyone offering you ranking signal in exchange for money is putting both sites at risk.

There is no subscription and nothing recurring. A spot is not transferable or resellable without our agreement.

3. The artwork

We intend to commission an artist to render the completed garden once every spot is planted, and to give a copy to everyone who planted. This is a genuine intention rather than a guaranteed delivery date, and it depends on the garden actually filling up. If it becomes impossible, we will say so publicly rather than quietly drop it.

4. What you may plant

You are responsible for what you submit. Do not submit:

• content that is unlawful, or that infringes someone else’s rights;
• malware, phishing, or deceptive redirects;
• sexual content involving minors, content promoting violence against people, or harassment of an identifiable person;
• impersonation of another business, product, or person, including names and branding you have no right to use;
• links you do not control or are not authorised to promote.

We may remove a listing that breaches this, and will refund it pro rata only where the breach was genuinely ambiguous. Removal for clear abuse is not refunded.

5. Refunds

If you change your mind, email [email protected] within 14 days of purchase and we will refund you in full and free the spot. After 14 days a spot is non-refundable, because it has been occupying a place someone else could have taken. If we remove your listing for a reason that is our fault, you get a full refund.

6. How long a listing lasts

For as long as the site exists. The site is run by one person and funded out of pocket; it lives as long as its maintainer can pay for it. If it has to close, we will give as much notice as we reasonably can. A one-time payment does not buy a guarantee of perpetual uptime, and we do not promise specific traffic, click volume, or results.

7. Availability

The site is provided as it is, without warranty. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us.

8. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Prices are shown before you pay, and the price you are shown at checkout is the price you are charged.

9. Your rights in what you submit

You keep ownership of everything you submit. You grant us permission to display it on the site and to include it in the commissioned artwork and in material promoting the garden. You can withdraw that permission by asking us to remove your listing.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be noted on this page with a new “last updated” date. Changes are not applied retroactively to a purchase already made.
